Welcome to Aerial Athlete!
It takes a lot of time, effort and energy to train aerial. While it’s pretty accessible in terms of being able to rock up to a class or even open training, it’s harder to find really helpful guidance on what you as an aerialist need personally to help you with your goals. And making progress in aerial can be slightly more complex, because we need so many different attributes; strength, motor control, mobility and flexibility, plus the mental aspect and building physical confidence. So understanding how to balance everything, prioritise exactly what you need, and make progress without experiencing burnout or injury is key in order to build a sustainable practice.
So I’ve created Aerial Athlete; custom programming and coaching to help you achieve your aerial goals without overtraining or burning out. It’s about training smarter, not harder, and setting yourself up for real success.
Aerial Athlete runs for 12 weeks.
What exactly is it?
Aerial Athlete is my one to one coaching program. You get your training mapped out for you to help you towards your goals. Every training session includes a warm up, skill work, conditioning, and a cool down, plus anything else that is relevant to your specific aerial goals. We’ll incorporate training off the apparatus and on the apparatus. The programming is created based on your needs; your goals, your current level, the time you have for training, and it will fit alongside whatever else you’re doing e.g. other training or work/life.
Each exercise in your program includes a detailed video tutorial that will coach you through the movement and provide progressions if needed. You also have guidance around how to make adjustments to your training on any given day based on how you’re feeling.
Your training is delivered to you in an app, so you can access it any time, anywhere, on any device. If you also opt for coaching support, this is delivered weekly via email and you can get video feedback on anything you’re training.
How does it work?
Once you’ve signed up you’ll fill out a form with all the info needed to create your personalised training program. This will include getting info on where you’re currently at, what your goals are, and some videos to demonstrate your current level.
This is a 12 week program, but you receive training 4 weeks at a time. This is to ensure that what you’re working on is exactly what you need, and adjusted at the rate of your progress.
Each training block is 4 weeks long and you’ll get a feedback form at the end of each block. This is also where you can share videos of your progress, along with giving plenty of input into how you’ve got on and what you want moving forwards.
Why 12 weeks long?
Training goals to take time and consistency to achieve. We offer 12 week blocks of programming because this is the minimum amount of time we recommend to commit to a training goal, especially if it’s skill based. Some skills take months to nail, others take years. By committing to 12 weeks, you’ll start to see progress and get a better understanding of how to reach your long terms goals.
